Valentinians
Major Sect: Early Century Sects

Founded in the year 140 by Valentine

It ended 1649 years ago (230 years after it started).

This founder left the church in frustration after not being appointed a bishop. This sect had very complex doctrine and was the most widely practiced form of Gnosticism. The founder invented the genealogy of Eons and gods, denied Mary as the mother of God, taught justification by faith alone, believed matter was eternal, and also denied free-will and the resurrection of the body.
